What Parents are Saying
“Mary Kausek Muse is a wonderful oboe teacher. My daughter adores her and looks forward to her lessons. Mary is a working musician who has high expectations for her students. She not only knows the instrument at the level of a concert performer but has a gift for teaching and is able to share her approaches and insights in a way that make difficult concepts understandable.” – Laura Putre
“I have been gifted the rare ability to read and to understand my student’s unique needs with ease”
I tailor my teaching to best fit the student’s personality and to play off of their strengths. I love allowing them to feel uplifted and empowered to pursue improvement objectively and without self-criticism. This strategy enables them to enjoy challenging themselves, and it teaches them the value and long-term satisfaction of consistent hard work. I help reveal to them their potential, and their own improvement and effort becomes not only fulfilling but also joyful and even addicting! I guide my students with kindness, and I encourage them to take intelligent musical risks with the support of their parents, their teachers, and their mentors. I strongly believe that this collective approach cultivates not only excellent musicians but—even more importantly—motivated, confident, and thoughtful individuals.
